Whether you’re a bored housewife, a tradie or a full on Businesswoman we all need some time out with friends. Some people relax with yoga, some at the gym and others like to watch a little TV but what does almost everyone across the globe have in common? They all love a great little cafe, with good barista coffee and a great selection of treats to catch up with friends and chat about life.
You really can’t put a price tag on a space for everyone, all cultures, all colours and all tastes coming together over a common theme of relaxation, good food, great coffee and sweets made with love.
Now there are plenty of food outlets that call themselves cafes but only truly great cafes give you the feeling of home without the cooking and cleaning. A great cafe should have an ambience that makes you feel warm in winter and fresh in summer. It should make coffee the way your grandma used to make it, with love, attention and good amount of froth. It requires a great selection of comfort food, hot and cold and a way to have your 3 course meal by snacking on share meals and laughing with friends.
You should never want to leave a great cafe, you should want to visit it time and time again and you should know the staff, the owner and most importantly you should want to thank your chefs and Barists for making your day just that little bit more bearable during a long week.
We looked around at all the cafes we could find and asked people what they felt was important and although responses varied from free wi-fi to good coffee, one sentiment that re-appeared time and time again was this. A place where everyone can come together and experience a way of life that is seldom seen, a relaxation that we never take the time to dream about and an atmosphere that makes us forget the deadlines, the washing and the chores, if only for an hour.
Sweet City has worked hard to create such a space, bringing together cultures and people from all walks of life to sit back, relax and unwind and worry about nothing but whether they really should have that extra piece of cake.
And, yes, you definitely should have all the cake you want. You deserve it!
